I got a restriction you wouldn't believe.
eBay called me on the phone and I just didn't have time to talk right then.
I figured they were calling about a VeRO, sometimes they call me first, no big deal I thought too.
Then I get this email that says because I've got like 5 outstanding orders with no tracking they're restricting the account; indefinitely until I resolve these by uploading tracking or refunding the orders.
They were 5 manual orders I had made over the past few months as far back as the beginning of August.
This all was over the course of 13 days.
So I fixed the problems, I upload tracking and cleared 2 cases that wouldn't fall off for some reason.
I had to call eBay for those and the guy was as confused as me about why they weren't off there.
He told me to just respond to the email that eBay sent me and we hung up.
I responded to the email, then got this auto "do not reply" email.
So I called and they couldn't figure it out. She said that's normal or whatever....
So I never heard back after like 3 days which she said is how long the response would take.
I call back, then a guy tells me "no you gotta reply to the message just like you would reply to a buyer through the eBay messaging system."
So that was a wasted 3 days bc that lady didn't have a clue.
I responded via the eBay messaging system and I checked the box that said "send a copy to my email".
I got a copy... and it was all jumbled up with HTML coding and stuff. No way anyone at eBay could decode that stuff.
So I call again, then I get someone who actually cares and wants to help. He personally gets his team leader to contact the "listing department" (that's who actually handles restricted accounts)
Then he gets back on the phone with me, tells me I'll hear back today. I heard back in a matter of a few hours. The listing dept told me I needed to clear up the 2 pending returns I now have. (2 returns had come up after the 19th but now they've changed their terms on removing the restrictions based on these 2 returns that weren't even there at the time of the restriction)
I respond to them in the eBay messaging system, and I check the box that says send me a copy again. I get another copy of terrible HTML messaging. I call back and the next dude tells me to wait the 72 hours anyway. I do that and I never get a response. I call again, and I get someone who actually cares again.
He tells me he's going to get with his team leader to talk to the "listing dept" again. He gets back on the phone with me and says I'll hear back today. I finally get an email right as I'm laying down my phone to go to bed.
I learn they've removed the restriction; as well as lowered my listing limits from 2.2 million quantity and $220 million down to 50k quantity and $5 Million.
And they did that because they want to protect the eBay community and make sure I'm selling responsibly.
I had to reauthorize my account in our software because it wouldn't reprice anymore thinking the restriction was still there; otherwise I would sell stuff that wasn't updating.
